En USA se desintegra el transbordador Columbia el mismo año en que moría Dolly, la famosa oveja clonada. En el ámbito político Arnold Schwarzenegger es elegido gobernador de California mientras en Irak, es detenido Sadamm Hussein. La música latinoamericana sufre pérdidas muy importantes como la muerte de Compay Segundo y Celia Cruz. En los deportes, mientras Michael Schumacher obtiene su sexto título de la Fórmula 1, Lance Armstrong gana su quinto Tour de Francia consecutivo. Por su parte, el español Pedro Almodovar recibe el Óscar al mejor guión por Hable con ella.
El 2003 en Barcelona fue declarado el año del diseño, mientras en el Zoo de nuestra ciudad, moría el famoso gorila albino “copito de nieve” y The Rolling Stones hacían una impresionante presentación en el Estadio Olímpico.
Para demano, fue un año muy importante. Aparte de seguir evolucionando, obtuvimos el Premio al Diseño por el Reciclaje Otorgado por la Generalitat de Catalunya, el Departamento de Medio Ambiente, la Junta de Residuos, el Centro Catalán de Reciclaje, el Instituto Europeo de Diseño, ADI, Barcelona Centro de Diseño y la Fundación 2004 ambiental.

In the United States, the shuttle Columbia disintegrates in the same year that Dolly, the famous sheep, the very first cloned mammal ,died. In the political sphere, Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected governor of California while in Iraq, Saddam Hussein was arrested. Latin American music suffers major losses such as the death of Compay Segundo and Celia Cruz. In that year it also appears the Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and while Michael Schumacher gets his sixth victory as world champion in Formula 1, Lance Armstrong wins his fifth Tour de France victory. On the other hand, the spanish direc tor Pedro Almodóvar received the Oscar for best screenplay for his film Talk to Her.
In 2003, in Barcelona, it was declared the year of design, while at the zoo of our city, died the famous albino gorilla “Snowflake” and The Rolling Stones made an impressive performance at the Olympic Stadium.
For demano was a very important year. Besides of our further evolution, we obtained the Award for Design for Recycling, granted by the Evironment Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Waste Board, Catalan Centerof Recycling, European Institute of Design, ADI, Barcelona Design Center and the Fundación 2004 Ambiental.
